WHAT? YOU MEAN...BON LIKED TO DRINK?
There´s been some discussion going on at risingpower about Bon´s drinking. I was surprised to see certain people´s reaction. Seems like Bon liking his booze is some kind of a "romantical concept", to fit the legend or something.
Well...no.
Bon liked to drink, and Bon liked to do drugs. Which is completely fine to me. And that means there musted had been A LOT of times when Bon was stinking from booze, a lot of times when the Youngs had to cope with a hunged-over Bon, a drunk and happy Bon, a depressed Bon...whatever. That´s what alcohol does to you, among other things.
Smiler brought up some interview on which Malcolm is supposed to say Bon flatted out after singing one verse. He passed out, huh? Problem is? Some guys just can´t face the facts. So what´s the big fucking deal if Bon was drunk when he recordered some songs? What if Bon was waaaaay out there in some (a lot of them) live gigs? THAT was Bon. All of it.
A sober Bon would have been completely different. Alcohol itself did not make Bon, but it was a part of Bon´s life. It was also a part of Bon´s death.
Deal with it.

I don't think the thread was about the fact Bon drank, because he did but the fact that Mal would say that comment now.
You know as well as I how the Young's protect Bon in all the interviews they give. According to them Bon was a "heavy drinker" or "liked a drink now and than". I have never heard them say they thought it affected the band.
Besides that, other than Angus they were all drunk at the time. I mean Mal commenting on Bon's drinking.....

I was trying to make a point on how some people seem to be able to cope with Bon´s appetite for the booze, but only in the "romantical" way. You know what I mean, like Bukowski?
"Bon liked to drink, but he was so cool he never missed a gig" and so on. Fact is, drinking brings a lot of things on board, including puking, passing out, being an ass, being the funniest guy around, stinking in the mornings...etc, etc. So, Bon passing out while singing in the booth comes with the whole package, it shouldn´t surprise neither offend anyone.
And yeah Young4, Malcolm shoudln´t be talking, huh? LoL
Nighty, I just hope you´ll know when to stop man, do not follow Bon´s steps in that direction. Be wiser, kind of like Alice Cooper!

Bon was an alcoholic. He died of alcoholism.
